New South Wales AusSquad weekend

first_imgA group of New South Wales junior Touch Football players will gather in Wollongong this weekend to take part in the inaugural AusSquad camp in the state.The attendees were selected following their performances at the recent New South Wales Junior Regionals event, with the camp looking towards developing the next generation of state and national Touch Football representatives.Approximately 150 players were invited to take part in the weekend, in the under 14’s, 16’s and 18’s age categories. The camp will run from Friday, 2 August until Sunday, 4 August 2013.  Participants at the camp will receive advice and learn skills from High Performance coaches as well as being introduced to lifestyle practices that are conducive to success.AusSquad head coach, Justin Creighton, said he was excited by the opportunity to run the camp as well as the growth prospects it heralded for the sport of Touch of Football.“We have had almost 200 players and coaches register to be a part of this inaugural program in New South Wales. This reflects not only a need for this development pathway, but also enormous enthusiasm from the participants,” Creighton said.“We want to offer ongoing high level development and an increased professionalism to our player base, for the long term betterment of the sport.”Related LinksAusSquad Camplast_img
